In July 2026, OKOndt GROUP specialists visited Baku Metro, Azerbaijan, to commission previously supplied non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment and provide comprehensive training for the customer's personnel on the operation of these ultrasonic flaw detectors.

Personnel Training

During the visit, OKOndt GROUP specialists introduced Baku Metro personnel to the fundamentals of the ultrasonic testing method, procedures for detecting internal rail defects, flaw detector setup and the operation of the inspection equipment.

Practical training sessions were conducted under actual metro operating conditions, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience using the UDS2-73 dual-rail ultrasonic rail flaw detector.

Commissioning

As part of the project, OKOndt GROUP engineers commissioned the following equipment:

  • UDS2-73 dual-rail ultrasonic rail flaw detectors;
  • Sonocon B portable ultrasonic flaw detectors.

The specialists performed equipment setup and calibration and provided comprehensive instructions on the operation and adjustment of the flaw detectors.
