Ultrasonic calibration blocks

  • Application

V2 Calibration Block is designed for verification of the ultrasonic flaw detectors used in the course of welded joints quality control by the UT method. It is DSTU 4002-2000 (ISO 7963, В.S.2704) compliant.

V2 Calibration Block allows:

  • to calibrate the sweep of the flaw detector by the ultrasonic wave velocity for the straight beam piezoelectric transducers
  • to calibrate the sweep of the flaw detector by the ultrasonic wave velocity for the angle beam piezoelectric transducers
  • to set a conditional level of sensitivity of the UT flaw detectors with the straight and angle beam transducers
  • to determine the probe index and X-value of the angle beam transducers
  • to determine the UT wave entry angle in steel.
  • Technical data

  • velocity of the ultrasonic longitudinal waves in the Block material at a frequency of 5.0 MHz and a temperature of (20±5)ºC is (5920±30) m/s
  • velocity of the ultrasonic shear waves in the Block material at a frequency of 5.0 MHz and a temperature of (20±5)ºC is (3255±15) m/s
  • geometrical dimensions of the Block correspond to DSTU 4002-2000 (ISO 7963, B. S. 2704).
